Sources of Joy

With adulthood I found it more and more difficult to find sources of joy.

One of the reasons why it happens is that I rather withhold myself from spending energy, time or money on activities or things bringing me joy. Unlike in childhood..

Why saying always no to myself? My wishes? My desires?

Even God tells us to always rejoice. Always find these points in our lives providing joy.

No matter how difficult life gets we need to find ways to be grateful and events to cheer us up.

“Always be full of joy. Never stop praying. Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭ERV‬‬

If today my joy came from simple things like: purchasing a new pair of high heals I haven’t done for nearly 5 years by now.

Or be it to reunite with my family after 2 months being out of my country.

Maybe it’s because eating well instead of being on a fast.

Does anyone want you miserable? Do you want to feel down? I don’t think so…

Our heavenly father wants us happy. Our parents wants us fulfilled, as we wish our children to be happy too. Our friends support us to find joy all the time… around us we have everything we need to find joy.

Don’t be an obstacle of your own happiness.

Be a source of joy to yourself too not just to others.

Always care for yourself and respect yourself to find opportunities for rejoicing.

Treat yourself the same way you treat the one most important person in your life. Give yourself all you give him/her/them.
